As per our Fall Preview, Ardmore's The Saint James from chef Michael Schulson and restaurateur Rob Wasserman will be targeting an early fall opening. When it comes to the menu of this American bistro, expect a reasonably priced East Coast-inflected menu from executive chef Matthew Moon (Talula's Table) featuring items like trout dip with bagel chips, peekytoe crab toast, a shrimp roll and a pork sandwich with spicy kale and sharp provolone.
As for beverages, wines by the glass will range $6-$12, while bottles will clock in at $30-$60. A mix of classic and more contemporary cocktails will be served as well as beers, hovering in the $5-$12 price range.
The 120-seat restaurant will highlight a modern-rustic design, which will extend throughout the dining room and bar, separated by a skylight foyer. The lounge area will include a 20-foot-long bar, with both stool and booth seating available. Similarly, the dining room will have leather booths wrapping around the space, with wood tables placed in the center. Floor-to-ceilings windows will allow ample light in each space, and white brick walls and tiled floors will help promote an airy feel. As a bonus in the warmer months, there will be a spacious outdoor dining space that will spill out onto Suburban Square's stone courtyard.
Here's hoping they open before the fall chill kicks in...
