Last time we wrote about Magpie, we mentioned hoping owner Holly Riccardi would wait to open until after bikini season. Looks like we were in luck. After a couple of short delays, baker Riccardi is now going to open her pie bakery this Saturday, September 1. The shop will feature 18 seats and 10 counter stools, where guests can enjoy both sweet and savory seasonal pies - think buttery caramel apple, butterscotch bourbon and tomato corn cheddar. Costs will run between $4.50-$8.50 per slice, and $28-$35 for a whole pie...not that it matters, since you can't put a price on happiness, right? (1622 South St.).
