We didn't create the burger in Los Angeles, but the first fast-food joints popped up here in Southern California. It's been a burger love affair ever since. Whether you like a classic with cheese and pickles or a gourmet umami-bomb, all-beef or vegetarian patties, or something in between, we've got you covered. Here are eight burgers we think really sizzle right now. Did we miss your favorite newcomer? Let us know for next time.
Your leaving out 2 amazing buger spots that deserves to be on the list.
ReplyDelete#1 Golden State- Its on Fairfax across the street from Canters
2. 25 Degrees in the Rosevelt hotel.
Please go eat these burgers than rewrite your top 8 list.
Thanks
Ben
The Golden State has one of my favorite burgers in the city. These are new or newish burgers, which is why it's not on here. This isn't the definitive "best burger" list in LA. Just one of many lists! Thanks!
Delete25 Degrees in the Hollywood Roosevelt @ 7000 Hollywood Boulevard. There's a reason the #1 burger is #1, but you can build your own from a great selection of toppings and regional cheeses. And don't miss the sweet potato fries or onion rings here. Get a half-and-half order of those and you'll weep tears of job.
ReplyDeleteLove 25 Degrees, but we tried to focus on newer places for this particular list. Thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteI never would have predicted it, but the burger at La Poubelle on Franklin is fantastic. Perfect.

Interesting ...
DeleteShort Order makes fantastic burgers and the fries are great
ReplyDeleteHole in The Wall on Santa Monica Blvd. about three blocks east of the 405 (entrance around the corner on Bentley). Place lives up to its name in appearance and the burgers are the best in L.A. You select your burger and go-withs on a paper slip menu that you check off. My favorite is the beef burger on brioche with grilled onions and onion mayonnaise. The ketchup is house made and superb.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been there in awhile, but yes, they're good!
DeleteSeriously? No Hole in the Wall or Commes Ca?
ReplyDeleteAnd Plan Check - yes, turn in your burger credentials, as they're revoked.
We love both of those burgers! We're just highlighting some newish ones. Thanks for reminding us about Comme Ca too.
DeleteStout Burgers FTW. Changed my life.
ReplyDeleteCheck out Eden Burger bar in Glendale. They opened this summer are are DELISH. Totally worth checking out. NOOMMMY.
ReplyDeleteHole in the Wall is disgusting. Father's Office makes the number one burger, followed by the Blueprint Burger at Plan Check. Closing it with third place is Hot's Famous Burger at Hot's Cantina.
