The word on the street is that the long awaited SF expansion of Chicago-based chain
Intelligentsia Coffee is happening soon, very soon. According to Inside Scoop, the Intelligentsia folks took over the Ecco Caffe back in 2009, then signed a lease in 2010 for a 5,000 square-foot Potrero Hill space with plans to open a dual-brand concept, but the plans have been on hold since then due to financial concerns. The word today is that Director of Marketing Stephen Morrissey is planning to opened a fully branded Intelligentsia roastery/cafe/retail joint at 1125 Mariposa in the next few weeks. Click
