Gourmet Frozen Treats Hit The Streets Of Chicago

Two forms of mobile brain freezes are now roaming the streets and sidewalks of Chicago. The first is a new food truck vending gourmet popsicles and the second is the hippest ice cream cart to ever hit a farmers market.

Ice3 (Ice-cubed) is freezing more than just strawberry and grape, their multi-layer popsicles are inspired by multi-course meals, classic cocktails and elegant desserts. The popsicles are as beautiful as they are tasty, with a rainbow of colors signifying the multiple flavors. The five-course Italian dinner pop is something out of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory - it starts with Prosecco then moves on to lemon beet salad, bresaola, veal ragu, tomato confit before finishing with chocolate-drizzled tiramisu.

For a frozen treat that’s a little less extravagant, Chi-scream can be found at farmer's markets and festivals with handmade ice cream sandwiches. Once again avoiding the boring offerings, their varieties include apple cobbler, strawberry jam and banana-peanut butter. Sandwiching the ice cream between two cookies is the former chef de cuisine of Green Zebra and Spring.
