LA's First Fried Chicken Fest Debuts This Month

There is NO doubt that we love fried chicken. There have been lists and radio shows. Plan Check's fried chicken won Angeleno's Best Dish of the Year. The politics at one popular fast food chain led us to give you many, many delicious sandwich alternatives should you not want controversial chicken. Honestly, we pretty much fancy any fried bird, and that's barely scratching the crispy, golden surface. So to jump on the trend, today it was announced that the LA Fried Chicken Fest will take place on August 26 at the The Coop (the former home of Gonpachi) in Beverly Hills.

This goes way beyond buckets. Nine of the city's top chefs - Bryant Ng from Spice Table, Josef Centeno from Baco Mercat, and Mary Sue Milliken from Border Grill among others - will all cook their favorite bird. Tickets ($45 per person) gets you one piece and a side dish from each participating chef, plus unlimited amounts of punch from Mess Hall, craft beer, and groovy DJ beats. Buy your way in here.
