Franco Manca Opens a Fourth Restaurant in Clapham

Franco Manca's Neapolitan pizza has been called one of the top 5 in London. The secret? Perhaps the fact that he only uses the freshest ingredients or his bespoke wood-burning brick oven where the pizza is cooked at 500c to seal in the flavours and keep the crust moist.

In recent years he has branched out from his original Brixton hideaway to Chiswick and Westfield Shopping Centre. And now the good people of South West London can also sample his authentic sourdough pies when he opens on Northcote Road in Clapham on September 11.

The new space has been made without and architect or designer. “Friends and partners helped construct the restaurant from materials that ranged from cardboard lighting - made by bike courier and mate Paolo Longheu - through to pop up cupboards created by the builders. The design is there, but it is involuntary. We make pizzas - not chairs” explains Manca.
