Former Thistle Hill Tavern Chef Will Open The Wallace in Clinton Hill

We noticed some signage has gone up in the Clinton Hill space that used to house Caribbean spot Dajeh. Well, some after some poking around online we found out that the new digs will be dubbed The Wallace. The eatery is from a team of owners who've worked at restaurants like Zoe, Chubo and Brooklyn bistro Lamb & Jaffey. The chef is Jon A. Wallace, who had some experience creating a neighborhood gem during his stint as executive chef at Thistle Hill Tavern in Park Slope.

 Here, his focus is on New American fare, but he promises to steer clear of comfort food, promising to focus on an amalgamation of flavors and local products. Expect dishes like bass with hierloom tomatoes and a creamy curry broth or a spice-crusted pork chop with chickpea fritters -take a peek at the menu here. No word yet on exactly when the new eatery will open this fall, but the chef is updating potential patrons via a blog here (919 Fulton St.).
