First Look: Inside Apero Bar and Restaurant

We had a sneak peek at Apero, the new restaurant and bar opening next week in The Ampersand Hotel in South Kensington. We liked what we saw.

Set in the Victorian vaulted cellars of the hotel, the restaurant features an exposed brick wall and industrial-feel lighting, and will focus on the Italian tradition of aperitivos. The menu overseen by Chris Golding (previously head chef at Granger & Co, Nobu, Mirabelle) includes small sharing dishes such as cured mackerel with purple potatoes; and fennel with pistacho and candied lemon, while cocktails are mostly made using Italian brands such as Campari and Martini. Best to book now before everyone discovers it.
