Fat Boy's Diner: An Authentic American Diner in East London

Homesick Americans in town for the Olympics will love Fat Boy's Diner. The original 1940's diner in a shiny trailer is rare gem tucked away in Trinity Buoy Wharf in east London. It is slightly shabby but full of character and often overlooked by Londoners because of the inconvenient location within an artists community/industrial site on the edge of the Thames.

Just as you would expect there are booths, a counter with stools and a grill where breakfast is cooked. The food (hot dogs, hamburgers, Southern fried chicken, hash browns, milkshakes, blueberry pie) is authentic, as in greasy but tasty. This wonderful spot is worth a visit if only for the stunning views across the river of the Millennium Dome and new cable cars system.
