Eleven North Set to Open in Edgartown

Edgartown is buzzing with new-restaurant activity. The Port Hunter opened on Main Street recently, and Eleven North, a contemporary American, is slated to open at 11 N. Water St., former home of David Ryan’s, next week.

“It’s nothing like it was,” says owner Jonathan Koerner, and describes the soon-to-open spot as “Miami/New York” meets the island. The place has been completely gutted to create a light and airy space with monochromatic gray interior and white. Downstairs there’s a zinc bar and high tops. Upstairs there’s another bar, tables and chairs, and the walls are blue-green. A custom chandelier hangs in the stairwell leading to the second floor.

The menu, which will utilize ingredients from the island as much as possible, includes plenty of fresh, local seafood (including raw-bar fare) and pasta. Bar and late-night menus are coming soon, and there’s a full liquor license, with a focus on small-production wines. Note: it's dinner-only for now, but lunch and brunch plans are in the works.
