Elate in Hotel Felix Transforms into LM Bistro

The LM restaurant group is having a hard time finding its footing. The latest stumble is from LM, the Lincoln Square namesake, which closed and recently reopened in River North as LM Bistro. This is a new addition to the family that includes Brasserie by LM in the Essex Hotel, Troquet and LM Catering. It is the second restaurant to be housed in a hotel, suggesting a shift from neighborhood joints to hospitality-focused spaces.

LM Bistro focuses on traditional French bistro fare such as suckling pig, steak and fries as well as a foie gras burger. A two and three course prix fixe option is also served. There is also an extensive wine list that can be kicked up a notch with a shot of Jean-Baptiste Combier’s fruit liqueur. In addition to a new menu, the former Elate space has taken on the LM color scheme of orange and brown, with simple furnishings that suggests it is the perfect spot for a quick business lunch or after-work bite.
