Eat This, Do This, Drink This: LA's Weekend Planner

How many gyoza can you eat?
Eat This
This year's Simply diVine takes place on Saturday (Aug. 18) in a new location (Melrose Place) and with a lower ticket price ($100). Restaurants like Sotto, Ray's and Stark Bar, Border Grill and Street supply the nibbles, plus craft brews and spirits. Proceeds go to the LA Gay & Lesbian Center. Festivities are from 7 to 10 PM.

Drink This
To prime yourself for the big beer crawl in Downtown LA on Saturday, hit Golden Road's Los Feliz Pub Crawl on Friday (Aug. 17). You'll stop at Tam O'Shanter, 55 Degrees and Links n Hops, Bigfoot Lodge and The Griffin. Things kick off with a new beer tasting at Bill's Liquor. Follow Twitter for whereabouts that night.

Do This
It's Nisei Week in Little Tokyo, which means one thing: The Gyoza Eating Championship on Saturday (Aug. 18). Two professional competitive eaters - Joey "Jaws" Chestnut and Patrick "Deepdish" Bertoletti - as well as some brave amateurs will stuff their faces with potstickers with for a $5,500 purse. The world record is 264 gyoza in 10 minutes, so there's that. The event takes place at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center Plaza (244 S. San Pedro St.) at 2:30 PM.
