DiNic’s Roast Pork Named Best Sandwich in America

After tasting food around the country, naming regional winners and gathering the top 10 for a final showdown, the Travel Channel’s Adam Richman has made his selection. Last night, he named the roast pork at Tommy DiNic’s the Best Sandwich in America. DiNic’s is one of the most-trafficked stands in Reading Terminal Market, with a long history - it’s run by a fourth generation Nicolosi, whose family first opened a Philadelphia butcher shop back in 1918 - and the roast pork is its most popular offering. Slow-roasted and then sliced, the meat drips with juice and exudes spicy flavor. It's traditionally served on a long roll with shaved sharp provolone and sautéed broccoli rabe. Though the lines at the RTM stand are going to be longer than ever, this is one sandwich that's worth the wait. Congrats to DiNic’s, and kudos to Richman for making the right choice.

  1. I've lived in Philly all my life and enjoyed dinics roast pork but Tony' Luke's pork Italian is by the far the best in Philly and maybe the country . Johns roast pork is also a close second

    1. I am a Philly native and when I go home it's John's that I can't leave without having. Proud of Dinic's but IMHO, John's is the best!!!

  2. Dinic's is simply the best! Fresh, tasty, cooked to perfection. Hard working family. GO DINIC'S!
