| Sushi deals and views at Takami |
Already known for having a bargain happy hour, in honor of its fifth year resting high above the Downtown skyline,
Takami Sushi & Robata has a slew of $5 sushi rolls on the menu through Thursday (Aug. 9). That means the baked king crab roll in soy paper, the veggie roll, spicy yellowtail, crunch roll or spicy tuna, which are all usually double or three times that price, are available throughout dinner only (no lunch). And on Thursday, there will be a celebration with drink and food specials from 5-8 PM (811 Wilshire Blvd.; 213-236-9600).
Speaking of happy hours,
newbie The Colonial - the wine bar from David Haskell, and Carolyn and Mary Anne Reyes - has added a late-afternoon deal. Choose three dishes, like crab crostini, lamb meatballs, little gem salad or marinated olives, paired with a wine, beer or sake for only $12. Monday through Friday, 4-7 PM (7166 Melrose Ave.; 323-657-1827).
