Sad news for fans of great housemade scrapple and great brunch in general: The Insider confirms rumors that Cafe Estelle will shutter at the end of September. Opened five years ago in the ground floor of an out-of-the-way residential building on North Fourth Street, the bruncherie gained a rabid following among those in the know. However, the locale gets near zero foot traffic, and chef/owner Marshall Green tells Michael Klein he doesn’t see the point in renewing his lease. His plan is to spend some time fishing and figuring out what’s next. We’re hoping he sees eggs and French toast in his future.
