The Life Cafe was a pioneer in Bushwick, and fans were bummed when it threw in the towel earlier this summer, following the shuttering of it's beloved East Village location in 2011. A new team has taken over the space and plans to reopen this September as 983. Life owner Kathy Kirkpatrick is no longer involved, but former Life manager Mark Trzupek will run the space with the owners of Ella and GalleryBar. The team hopes to maintain the character of the original, giving folks in the 'hood a casual space to hang out. The opening is scheduled for Tuesday, Sepetember 4 at 983 Flushing Avenue.
