Boston Hosts First Dîner en Blanc Next Week, Registration Still Open

Last year in New York
It started in Paris and, for the first time this summer, is happening in Boston on Thursday, August 16 at 6:30 PM. Dîner en Blanc (dinner in white, for an easy translation) is an outdoor epicurean feast of 1,000 people who must dress in white, bring their own food, tables, chairs, glasses, silverware and white tablecothes - and be prepared for communal fun.

The way it works: you sign up (registration closes this Friday, August 10) and then await for the last-minute instruction on where to gather to take a bus or public transportation to the yet-to-be-disclosed picnic place. Live music, dancing, dining - rain or shine - is part of the mysterious fun. When you register, you order your wine (separate cost than the admission ticket).

Started in 1988 by friends in Paris, the event has grown to include 15,000 diners (in Paris) and this year, Dîner en Blanc is taking place in outdoor public spaces in 20 cities across five continents. This is Boston’s maiden voyage. New York City opened the U.S. market last year by hosting a 1,000-person dinner party at Battery Park (pictured above). Hop on.

The event is 21-plus, ID required. Tickets are $25 to $35. Click here to register!
