The drink's base was Grosperrin VSOP Cognac - ok, that's fine. But then it was mixed with El Mastero Sierra Pedro Ximenez Sherry, mezcal, mole bitters and orange oil - a crazy slew of ingredients that is one absinthe wash from being a parody of itself. Could we make out the bitters and mezcal when we sipped this drink? Nope. Was it tasty? Yep. We're still not sure how we feel about these intricate beverages that take 14 minutes to make, but that first flavorful sip was good enough for us.
