| Sleepy downtown Forestville is about to get some new culinary blood. |
Big news about tiny Forestville, a one-horse town in Western Sonoma county nestled between Sebastopol, Windsor and Guerneville: it will soon be home to an ambitious new restaurant backed by a pair of chefs with serious culinary chops. According to the
BiteClub (via
SF Grubstreet), Daniel Kedan (a former chef at Thomas Keller’s
Ad Hoc) will pair up with Seth Harvey (formerly at
Petite Syrah and
the girl & the fig) to create
Backyard, a casual seasonally driven Californian restaurant inspired by “the backyard of Sonoma County” (mind you these backyard offerings are the same coveted ranchers, farmers and vintners that the Valley and city’s top restaurants tap into); the venture, which they envision will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, will take over the spot of the now-shuttered
Sarah’s Forestville Kitchen (6566 Front St, Forestville) which sports a large outdoor patio. Look for a Backyard opening in the fall.
