Culinary trends come and go (remember vertical food?), but every once in a while, a chef or a restaurant comes along and truly changes the face of dining forever. Sometimes it’s a technique, other times it’s elevating a style of cuisine or merely coming up with a different way of doing business. In their own way, these eight restaurants (and the talent behind them) have been Bay Area game changers.

ReplyDeleteIf you like Mission Chinese, try a restaurant called Red Hot Chilli Peppers in San Carlos. That's a really unique take on Chinese - something I hadn't tried before. Their chili prawns and corn pepper salt are to die for...seriously do it.
ReplyDeleteI ate at LiZhau Restaurant in Fremont, CA and got a bug wing and pubic hair in the food.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh. I ate at red hot chili pepper in San Carlos. A really unique take on chinese! I love it. A must try for anyone that likes chinese food but wants a unique take on it. I tried prawn pepper salt and chilli baby corn. Both were Amazing. Try the manchurian chicken and prawns in hot garlic sauce with Szechwan rice. Amazing to say the least. I would recommend this to all foodies. Almost a better take than mission chinese. This place is upscale and still a hidden gem.
