60% Of New Yorkers Oppose Bloomberg's Soda Ban

New Yorkers want their way-too-big sodas, at least if a poll published in today's NY Times is to believed. 60% of those polled said that the ban on super-sized soft drinks is a bad idea, compared with 36% who think it's all good. While the supporters say that it will reduce health issues, the opponents agree that the mayor is going too far and that NYC is turning into a "nanny state" - one in which the "nanny" can only serve healthy beverages.

This will all come to a head on September 13, when Bloomberg's plan is set to be voted on by the Board of Health. Better horde those giant Big Gulp cups now, because word on the street is that it will pass.
