3Dog Cantina, Berlin Currywurst Coming Soon to Cahuenga Corridor

Hollywood is about to get a few more party-food spots. First up is 3 Dog Cantina, a Mexican spot that's replacing the short-lived Capitol City sports bar on Cahuenga. This is from Curtis Nysmith, who thinks Mexican food has been overlooked in LA (according to the press release) and who owns Blue Boar next door, 3 Dog will have a taco bar to watch the grilling action, banquetteas with their own beer taps, an enclosed doggy-friendly back patio, and a rooftop vegetable and herb garden which will be used in the regional Mexican cuisine and cocktails. On the menu, expect things like oyster or cauliflower ceviche, crispy pork belly tacos, mole poblano wings, and fried ice cream. Spacecraft - you know the ones with the big black walls covering half of the restaurants and bars under development right now - is designing the space. 3 Dog Cantina, which should open in early September, is at 1615 North Cahuenga Boulevard.

Directly across the street, Berlin Currywurst has taken over that little Huston's BBQ joint. This will be the second location for the popular sausage spot - the first opened in Silver Lake almost two years ago - and will be bringing the German street food (bratwurst smothered in curry sauce) to the heart of Hollywood. The meat's all-natural, the sauce organic, and the fries are hand-cut. Beer will be served, oh yes it will. This is kind of genius for all the barhoppers on that stretch.
