| There is a very juicy burger from Sunday Dinner in your very near future |
Lush Pop-Up
The great minds of mixologists Adam Sager and chef Tim Graham are joining forces for a one-weekend-only gastro-bar pop-up. The duo will take over Lush Wine and Spirits from 6-10 PM on Satuday and Sunday with food and cocktail pairings, such as chicken Cordon Bleu poppers and a chicken fat infused red wine "Surprise & Delight." All seven pairings can be sampled for $49, or each costs $9 (312-666-6900).
Burger BBQ
The elusive chefs behind the Sunday Dinner are throwing a party and their famous burgers (offered each Saturday at Green City Market) are going to be center of attention. On Sunday from 4-8 PM, a pop-up art gallery and burger BBQ will be the perfect warm-up for Milwaukee Avenue Arts Fest ($20 in advance here; 2704 N. Whipple St.).
PQM BBQ
If you're tired of standard grill and BBQ fare, there is a remedy and it's called Dr. Pepper ribs. This week's guest chef at the Publican Quality Meats Sunday BBQ is Michael Shrader of Urban Union and he is cooking beef and pork ribs covered in Dr. Pepper sauce (3-8 PM; 312-445-8977).
BBQ Beasts & Blues
Still not satisfied with the BBQ selection? Here is our final offer - whole animals on the BBQ this Sunday from 4-10 PM at Three Aces, prepared by local chefs including Mark Steuer of The Bedford, John Manion of La Sierna Clandestina, Chris Curren of Stout Barrel House & Gallery and Matt Troost. Tickets cost $25 and benefit Mema-Music (312-243-1577).
Taste of River North
Lobster rolls from Hubbard Inn, mac ’n’ cheese from Kinzie Chophouse and al pastor sandwiches from Theory are among the offerings at the Taste of River North, along with music, Goose Island beer and food trucks. The festivities begin Friday night and continues through Sunday ($5 Suggested donation at Ward Park at Kingsbury St. and Erie St.).
