Upcoming BreastFest Taps Suds for A Good Cause

Forget the snarky jokes, while the rest of the world is going to be running around like Marie Antoinette and uncorking bottles of Beaujolais, serious hop lovers and do-gooders will be soaking up the suds and supporting a good cause at the 10th annual Breastfest. The annual Bay Area beer festival, which is going to be held this year on July 14 at Fort Mason, is a fundraiser for the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic, a non-profit organization that raises money for breast cancer clinics in the East Bay and San Francisco that provides alternative treatments for low-income women.

Boobs and brews are an unlikely pairing but the members of the craft brewing community, most notably the Marin Brewing Company, have been coming together for years to produce the event. This year, over 60 breweries, plus 10 wineries for those who prefer the grape, will be tapping into their best and often limited-access brews for the event. Further festivities include a skeeball machine, live music from the 80’s cover band Metal Shop and DJ Von. General admission tickets will be discounted for advance online purchase and grants holders to unlimited beer tasting and food, plus plenty of good karma. If you can’t make, the CMCC is also accepting donations online.

July 14, Fort Mason Festival Pavilion, 3-7 PM, VIP entry 2-3PM; General admission $45, VIP tickets $55, available online
