One by one, the city's
hotly anticipated patisseries of summer like
Craftsmans and Wolves, La Boulange du Dome and
Hayes Valley Works have opened, but sugar-happy habitués are going to have to wait a little longer for the rest. Word now comes that
Top Chef: Just Desserts' winner Yigit Pura's anticipated
patisserie and cafe at Union Square's Macy's won't be making its initially projected August 25 opening. Evidently, delays in constructions, "including the late arrival of the custom-made displays cases from Italy," have pushed out opening date until September 8.
We're also still waiting on the first city outpost of the
Cupcake Wars victor
Sift Cupcake & Dessert Bar (2411 California St) which we're told is now slated to open around the third week of August (in the old Dumplings and Buns shop) and Belinda Leong's nearby
b. Patisserie at 2128 California St, though that one's not gonna open much before 2013.
Adjust your sugar cravings accordingly.
