Tickets for Outside Lands Go on Sale Friday; Beer Lands Joins the Mix

Wine Lands will be joined by Beer Lands and a slew of new food vendors at Outside Lands

Fresh on the heels of all the whining about how pork belly has killed the punk club (and music scene in general) comes the news from Outside Lands - the annual outdoor summer music festival in Golden Gate Park - is not only going to be hosting 65 food vendors as part of the Taste of the Bay Area tent, but will also be rolling out a brand new bougie-biergarten dubbed Beer Lands, a suds-soaked tent curated by beer guru Dave McLean (owner of Magnolia Brewery and The Alembic). Beer Lands will feature 30 local California craft beers from some 16 breweries including a special custom-brewed Outside Lands Saison made by Sierra Nevada that will be unveiled during the weekend festivities.


Also back by popular demand will also be the Wine Lands tent, with over 30 local wines offering tastings, including an entire booth dedicated to the wines of Portugal curated by Jardinière sommelier Eugenio Jardim. Other cred-crushing foodie options will be Outside Lambs, a tent manned by chef John Fink of The Whole Beast, which will showcase a lamb dish from different Michael Mina restaurants each day. Oh yes, and we’re told Choco Land is also coming back, but details on that one haven’t been sorted out yet.

We find it fascinating that we can tell you the name of the 10 new food trucks that will be showing up, but we don’t have the foggiest idea which bands will take the stage. Oh wait, they just announced that as well. You can get the full roster of Wine Lands, Beer Lands and Taste of the Bay online, but the most important thing you need to know is that a limited number of early single-day general admission ($95) and single-day VIP tickets ($210) for the music go on sale this Friday at 10 AM. Worry about the  food and wine later.
