As if Time Machine Chefs wasn't enough food reality TV to think about for the next lifetime, word today comes that another show entitled Beat the Chefs will premiere on the Game Show Network on Thursday August 23 at 9PM ET/PT. The show will star American Idol finalist Matt Rogers as host and competitors Beau Macmillan of Food Network fame, former Top Chef-testant Antonia Lofaso and LA chef Jeff Henderson. The premise? Professional chefs will be challenged by everyday home cooks and their family recipes, letting underdogs prove that their small-town recipes are worth fame and fortune. Hmm...kind of a Bobby Flay Throwdown rip-off, no? The competition will be judged by food journalist Brad A. Johnson and Christy Jordan. We've kind of never heard of either of them but we assume they can both act tough and surly on camera?
