The Best Thing We Ate Last Night: Jerk Chicken at Kaz An Nou

Since opening in 2010, Kaz An Nou has easily been one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, and given the long wait times, it's clear other locals agree. While many of the options at this Prospect Heights French-Caribbean restaurant stand out, the poulet à l'Estragon is a must-try. Served alongside addictive coconut rice and green beans, the smoked chicken breast is seasoned with jerk spices, and plated in a honey sauce with tarragon and goat cheese. The meat is tender, and the richness and slight sweetness of the sauce complements the spices well. It's a Caribbean entree that uses French technique and influence, leading to a sophisticated dish with simultaneously comforting and complex flavors.
