Tacodelphia: Philly’s Online Taco Search Tool
Tacos are increasingly popular in Philadelphia (Pure Tacos opens today in Rittenhouse), and there are times you absolutely must get your hands (and mouth) on one. Tacodelphia to the rescue. Technically Philly makes a foray into the food scene to alert us to this handy tool. Created for fun by local developer Linus Graybill, the site maps 115 different places to get your stuffed tortilla fix. Color-coded icons on an interactive street grid clue you in to what kind of eatery is at each location (truck, bar, “sit down place”), whether it’s veg friendly and even if it’s open or not at the current time (grayed-out icons mean you’re out of luck). The smartphone-friendly version of the site will use your location to find the nearest taco shop, and there’s also a page that lists all the various taco nights around the city. Mr. Gray, we salute you.
