Swine Brings Housemade Charcuterie to the West Village Tonight

When we first heard about the new meat-centric restaurant dubbed Swine, we couldn't help but chuckle a bit. Pig: A Restaurant was a food world parody play that was making the rounds a few months ago, taking foodies to task for all the recent trends. Even though the name may be a bit similar, what's going on in the kitchen of this 70-seat West Villager is no joke. Chef Phil Conlon hails from Cafe Cluny and Extra Virgin, and he's prepared a menu of house-made charcuterie and larger plates like a bone marrow and brisket burger or a swine chop with crispy fingerlings.

All of this comfort-food is served in a casual, bi-level space that has some nifty design flourishes. The upstairs plays host to a bar area with wine on draft and a selection of craft beers (the full menu is also available) - guests looking to chill in this area can check out the vintage pinball machine. Downstairs is the dining room with features communal seating at a re-purposed ping-pong table.

The restaurant opens today for dinner service - they will also be catering to a late night crowd, staying open until 3 AM. Take a look at the full menu below the jump and stop by at 531 Hudson St. (212-255-7675).

    I have seen the snapshot of your fabulous restaurant & I must say it is quite luxurious. Restaurant consists all types of dishes that makes food complete. Serving food on ping-pong table is also new concept.
