With the news of Marion Cunningham's passing - Laurie Ochoa wrote
a lovely remembrance in the
LA Times - Suzanne Goin has dedicated the
Lucques Sunday supper this week (July 15) to the cookbook doyenne. There will be potato-crusted fried oysters, marinated beets and Dungeness crab toasts; little gem lettuces with green goddess dressing; an ode to Cunningham's chicken pot pie with thyme, leeks and mushrooms; and hazlenut cake with butterscotch ice cream for dessert. A very classic American meal to honor the woman who gave us very classic American cooking. Cost is $45 per person. Call 323-655-6277 for reservations.
