If you’re into wine and want to figure out who’s got the best food-wine pairings, head to
Upstairs on the Square on July 26 for the Antinori Battle of the Sommeliers. Brahm Callahan, sommelier at
Grill 23, will go against Sebastian Verrier of the
St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Miami - the two will pair wines with hors d’oeuvres and a multicourse menu from Upstairs chef Susan Regis. Judges include folks from
Sommelier Journal and Upstairs’ wine director Matthew Reiser and you - guests get to weigh-in with their opinions. The evening includes the meal, wine pairings and a one-year subscription to
Sommelier Journal, which is worth upwards of $50 (6:30 PM; $110 per person, all inclusive; 617-864-1933).
