CUESA’s Crops and Kraut

Forget everything you think you know about nasty sauerkraut. CUESA is hosting an all-day field-to-jar outing where DIY-ers will get up and close and personal with their veggies, then head to the kitchen to ferment them into their very own kraut. Meeting at the Ferry Plaza, CUESA will take participants via bus to an organic farm, then head to the redwoods of Ben Lomand where they’ll participate in a hands-on sauerkraut course with Kathryn Lukas of Farmhouse Culture. The tour costs $35 and includes snacks, lunch, the class, and a jar of sauerkraut.  Sunday, 9 AM-6 PM, get tickets at online.
