Scottish Pop-Up at Journeyman, Summer Bounty at Sel de la Terre

The chef's table at Natick's Sel de la Terre
Two chef-driven dinners will have you enjoying Scottish fare and the bounty of summer.

Journeyman in Somerville is hosting a pop-up dinner July 17, when Lumiere’s chef de cuisine, Andrew Urbanetti, will put together a menu of Scottish fare using French techniques, a celebration of the Auld Alliance. The five-course meal includes “neeps and tatties” - turnip and potatoes - lamb, a salt-cod egg and more. Robert Burns sideburns optional (7 PM; $55 per person, $80 includes wine and beer pairings. 617-718-2333; click here to purchase tickets).

Get up close and inquisitive when the new chef de cuisine of Sel de la Terre Natick, Ed Hoffey, prepares a four-course meal featuring Summer’s Bounty for the next chef’s table dinner July 19 at Sel de la Terre in Natick. Guests get to taste and then talk about the dishes and cooking techniques. If you can’t make this one, check out the Heirloom Tomato Harvest dinner on August 23 (7 PM; $50 per person. 508-650-1800; seldelaterre.com).
