| Railto's annual Summer Wine Barbecue |
Rialto's annual "Summer Wine Barbecue," originally scheduled for July 18, has been moved to July 19 due to impending bad weather. The evening of fine wine and dining will take place under the stars in
The Charles Hotel courtyard. The event is in its 18th year. This year chef-owner
Jody Adams and her kitchen staff present a three-course meal focused on Liguria, a coastal region of Italy. The evening begins with a reception, sipping wine and enjoying a raw bar and passed hors d’oeuvres. The sit-down meal is served at communal tables. The menu includes white fish, lobster and shrimp salad; grilled lamb two ways; and jellied jasmine and watermelon for dessert - with the caveat that Adams may change the menu due to whim and availability of ingredients (6:30 PM reception, 7:30 PM sit-down dinner; $125 includes tax and gratuity; 617-661-5050).
On July 26,
The Blue Room goes to town with a blue crab and beer Fest on its Kendall Square patio. The evening includes getting messy with an all-you-can-eat spread of Maryland blue crabs, New England steamers, fresh corn-on-the-cob and potatoes, all served family style on communal tables. The fare will be paired with local brews from Narragansett Beer, Pretty Things Brewery and Cambridge Brewing Company (6:30 PM; $72 per person; 617-494-9034;
