So you’re willing to brave the crowds on the Esplanade for the Boston Pops Fourth of July extravaganza, the city's grandest celebration complete with Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and fireworks. Good for you. You have to do it at least once, maybe twice in a lifetime. A picnic is essential. Note: it’s illegal to bring alcohol onto the Esplanade, but, well, we see some folks do it. You’re on your own with that one. But we’ve got you covered for provisions. The key: all of these places are within walking distance of the fireworks.
