Open Call: What's Your Favorite Local Standby?

Piadina in the West Village
Earlier this year, we published a round up of some of our favorite off-the-radar neighborhood gems, and now we want to know yours. These joints may not get much press, but they make up the backbone of the NYC restaurant scene. While spots like Le Bernardin are great, we'd go broke if we at there every day! Tell us where you like to go for a quick burger, an easy dinner or a cheap and casual lunch. You can leave your suggestions in the comments, or email jmulcahy@zagat.com with a few sentences describing why you love these haunts and stay tuned for our fresh roundup next week.

  1. Campo di Fiori on Berkeley St and Fifth Ave in Park SLope B'klyn. The food is consistently high quality, the prices reasonable and it is one of the best pizzas in NYC.

  2. Greensquare Tavern 21st St. just west of Fifth Ave. in the Flatiron District. Good vibe, very good food with a farm to table focus and a several times a week price point.
