On the Cheap: New Dining Deals at A.O.C. and Katsuya Downtown

Happy 3rd birthday, Katsuya!/Facebook
DineLA Restaurant Week may be over, but that doesn't mean restaurants aren't offering great deals. You can now get a four-course market menu at A.O.C. for only $45 any day of the week. There might be grilled peaches with buttermilk ricotta, or lettuces with tzatziki, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes; grilled albacore with grilled fingerling potatoes, or chicken tajine with harissa yogurt; farro with black rice and currants, or curried cauliflower. Point is, the menu changes with the whim of the chefs and whatever the farmers are growing (8022 W. Third St.; 323-653-6359).

Katsuya at L.A. Live celebrates its third year at the Downtown complex with a $33 three-course menu. No spicy tuna on crispy rice or crab handrolls (drool), but you can get clam consomme with chile oil and micro cilantro, braised Kurobuta pork belly with poached quail egg, and green tea panna cotta. Available now until August 12 (800 W. Olympic Blvd.; 213-747-9797).
