Officially Open: P'tit Soleil in Westwood, Laurel Hardware in WeHo

P'tit Soleil's poutine
P'tit Soleil officially opened its doors in Westwood yesterday. The side project for Soleil owner Luc Alaire is much more casual and bar-focused than the original adjacent restaurant, featuring a zinc-topped bar, a smattering of tables and more than 10 kinds of poutine. The fries and curds are topped with everything from traditional gravy to sausage and tomato sauce. There's a cocktail program and many Belgian ales, too. The restaurant opens at 4 PM daily for right now, and will go full throttle (11 AM to midnight) on July 16 (1386 Westwood Blvd.; 410-441-5384).

After some controversy over parking and other city permitting issues, Laurel Hardware Bar and Grill, the WeHo restaurant taking over a longstanding neighborhood hardware store (owners kept the sign), supposedly opens its doors tonight. According to Eater, the chef hails from the kitchens at Freddy Smalls and Lazy Ox, so expect similar gastropubby, seasonal small plates (7984 Santa Monica Blvd.; 323-656-6070). [Via Patch]
