| Bow and Truss serving in NoHo |
Brad Benson (founded Bourgeois Pig) and Guillermo Rolando finally opened the bi-level coffeehouse,
Graffiti, yesterday Taking over the former Sonora Cafe spot on La Brea, which has been covered in graffiti since it closed a few years ago, there's coffee (Intelligentsia), snacks from
Cake Monkey and
Bouchon Bakery, outdoor seating, and plans for live music. The space is slick and bright, very minimalist. Right now Graffiti is open until 10 PM but will move that to 2 AM sometime soon, a boon for late-night java junkies. Here's
a look inside. Find it at 180 South La Brea Avenue.
The group behind the
Federal Bar debuted
Bow and Truss in North Hollywood this weekend. Dubbed as a "Spanish taverna," the food skews toward tapas-y things like Spanish cheese and jamon plates, chorizo-laced white beans topped with fried egg, and pork belly tacos. Naturally there's craft beer on tap and an extensive handcrafted cocktail program. The space is all exposed brick and Latin-themed art, with a big open kitchen taking center stage. It's located at 11122 Magnolia Boulevard.
The food looks mighty good. Thank goodness you are not engaging in graffiti vandalism - that would be a crime.
