New York Dining Deals and Events July 23-29

LIC Market 


Lower East Sider Hotel Chantelle is running a bingo party tonight from 7:30-10 PM. $2 buys a card, and drinks are half off through 9 PM. Feeling peckish? Order nibbles like pulled pork sliders or grilled octopus off their New American menu.


Chef Marc Anthony Bynum from the Food Network’s Chopped presents a special, four-course summer menu tonight at Meatpacking eatery Vinatta Project. Expect seasonal fare like heirloom tomato and rocket salad with fennel, as well as day boat scallops with fava beans and scallop jus. Guests can choose from two seatings (at 7 or 9 PM) and the meal runs $75 or $135 with wine pairings. Get info here.


Chef Andrew Hebert of Boston’s TRADE is in the kitchen at The Beard House. The evening begins at 7 PM with hors d’oeuvres like Island Creek oyster shooters with tomatoes, lime, and chilies, followed by dinner with dishes including suckling pig with corn, tomatoes, and poblano relish. The meal includes wine pairings and costs $170, or $130 for JBF members - see the complete menu and purchase tickets here.


Chefs including Michael Anthony of Gramercy Tavern, Heather Carlucci of Print, and Daniel Holzman of The Meatball Shop will be at the Brooklyn Winery in Williamsburg tonight for their Taste of Marcellus event, featuring the food and wine from the Marcellus region of New York. General admission for the evening runs $125, and includes food tastings, wine, and beer, with proceeds going to fight the practice of fracking in New York State. Jimmy’s No. 43 hosts reps from Three Heads Brewing tonight as part of their Meet the Brewer series. From 7-10 PM they’ll be on hand to help diners pair suds with fare like sautéed pork chops, BBQ beef tacos, and bread pudding with caramel and whipped cream.


Online event company iAdventure hosts their first ever BBQ Blowout at the Greenwich Village Country Club today, with seatings from noon- 3 PM and 5-8 PM. Restaurants including Southern Hospitality, Little Town NYC, and Harley’s Smokeshack and BBQ will be doling out fare like brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and chicken, which guests can wash down with brew from event sponsor Pabst Blue Ribbon. Admission starts at $25, and tickets can be purchased here.


LIC Market fetes its second anniversary with a pig roast and clambake from 11 AM-6 PM. $25 buys you pork, black beans, rice and tamales, or mussels, prawns, chorizo and clams. Or, for $22, pick up some BBQ beef short ribs or steamed lobster. Drink specials like half-priced mimosas and $25 beer buckets will also be available.
