Earlier this summer Central Park got a brand new eating option with the opening of Maoz Vegetarian at the Harlem Meer adjacent to the Conservatory Garden just off of Fifth Avenue. This is the sixth New York location for the Dutch falafel chain, and it took over the small stand where Knish Nosh had been. On a few recent weekend stops there wasn't much of a crowd, but the stand was looking better than ever with a handsome renovation and a whole line up of the typical Maoz offerings like freshly fried falafel and their signature salad bar of toppings.
The new stand also offer a few unique treats that you won’t find at their other locations like iced coffee, muffins and brownies. Granted, it's a little out of the way for the average diner, but for park goers out and about on a hot summer day, it's a perfect spot to grab a sandwich, snag a seat on one of the many benches and enjoy this lovely section of Central Park. The stand is open from 9:30 AM to 6 PM.
