A Look Inside Lima, Now Open in London

Peruvian food has been the big story of the year - now it's time to see if the food lives up to the hype.

Lima, the much anticipated Peruvian restaurant, has finally opened this week, with Virgilio Martinez - the chef from the highly-rated Central in Peru - in the kitchen. As expected, the menu is filled with zesty-sounding ceviche (sea bass or artichoke) and tiraditos (scallops or salmon). Main dishes include suckling pig with potatoes grown at 4000 meters and lamb shoulder with black quinoa and pisco cinnamon, followed by traditional desserts such as dulce de leche and Andean kiwicha.

Also on offer in the colourful Soho space is coca tea - a strong herbal drink used in the Andean mountain range to cure altitude sickness.
