Local Expert: Chef Alain Allegretti of La Promenade des Anglais

Welcome to Local Expert, a new series in which we show you where food-world heavy hitters and other celebs spend their oh-so-precious off-hours. Today we're spotlighting chef Alain Allegretti of La Promenade des Anglais and Azure at Revel's Manhattan picks. Check out his Google+ Local reviews of five of his favorite spots below.

Eleven Madison Park

There is a level of precision and detail which is just spectacular but not too fancy or stuffy. The quality of the food Humm puts out, with such detail and attention to plating, is spectacular. I will definitely be back.

Le Bernardin

Although it is one of the more upscale restaurants in New York, I always feel very comfortable and relaxed; there's no stuffiness. Eric's approach and treatment of fish is amazing. Every time I go there, I have a memorable experience.

Locanda Verde

I really do like Carmellini's approach of upscale rustic cooking. The quality of ingredients and the upscale touches of a very talented chef come together to make each dish memorable. The fluke crudo, for one, is truly special. I love Tribeca; the neighborhood provides a great ambience and buzz to match the quality of the food. It's my neighborhood spot--love it!

Boulud Sud

For me, this is Daniel's signature restaurant. He really captures all of the flavor and cooking of my roots. The colors, flavors of the Mediterranean sea are all represented. His fish soup is perfect, a complex dish to execute but so simple and basic as a Mediterranean staple.

Tertulia
359 6th Avenue, New York, NY 10014

For me, this is one of the most desirable ways to eat: a bunch of dishes arrive on the table, and you keep ordering more! Chef Mullen really captures Spanish flavors, providing a tarentelle of tapas on the table. It is one of my new favorite spots!
