A while back, we told you that the Mondrian Hotel SoHo was gearing up to replace Imperial No. 9 with an Italian concept. Well, the property will debut the change-up next week when they launch Isola, a new Trattoria and Crudo bar that has moved into the space. We don't have many details right now, but we expect that the front bar that's in the greenhouse room to remain largely intact (say what you will about Imperial's food, but there's no denying that it was housed in a cool space.
This is the latest announcement from the hotel which is seeking to revive it's hot spot status. They also recently rolled out Soaked, a rooftop lounge that is trying to draw people in with infused spirits and artisanal cocktails. Interestingly, "Isola" is also the name of a fictional city modeled after NYC in the Ed McBain detective novels.
