Flavor! Napa Valley Tickets Go on Sale Today

Like the popular Napa Valley Auction and Christmas at Meadowood, Flavor! Napa Valley is a star-studded epicurean extravaganza that draws foodies and oenphiles to the valley floor for five days of sybaritic pleasures. And like those other events, tickets for the food and wine festival, which will take place this fall, sell out months in advance. In fact, tickets just went on sale today.

The five-day event is a fund-raiser to support programs and scholarships at The Culinary Institute of America’s Greytsone Campus in St Helena, so not surprisingly, the event brings out all the CIA’s big-gun alumni, including event founder Michael Chiarello and other Napa Valley master chefs.

Highlights of the week include an opening-night tribute dinner to Larry Forgione (aka the “godfather of American cuisine”) and a two-day tasting of wines spanning the post-Prohibition ‘40s through present day. There are chef demos, exclusive vintner dinners, hands-on agricultural immersion trips and the like. For foodies, the big night will be November 16 with The Appellation Trail grand tasting held at the mothership itself - the CIA at Greystone. The laundry list of bold-name chefs (50 in all) and vintners (125) is enough to break your keyboard - Thomas Keller, Christopher Kostow, Cindy Pawlcyn, Ken Frank, Masaharu Morimoto, Philippe Jeanty, Perry Hoffman, Geoffrey Zakarian, Johnny Iuzzini, Charlie Palmer, Larry Forgione - you get the point.

In other words, even if you don’t know where you’re having Thanksgiving dinner yet, we suggest you pencil in the week of November 14-18.

Flavor! Napa Valley: November 14-18, held at Silverado Resort and Spa, CIA at Greystone and various other locations throughout the Napa Valley. For more details on the festival, including ticket info and where to stay, check out the website, Facebook or Twitter page @FlavorNV.
