Upstairs on the Square special vegan prix fixe August 15, when chefs Alison Hearn and Susan Regis whip up a meat- and dairy-free meal using Summer’s local bounty. The four-course dinner in July will feature Zephyr summer squash soup, basil and smoked Spanish paprika; Mottistone & Boston lettuces salad; charred baby leeks and red Norland potatoes with hazelnut and orange romesco; frozen hot chocolate with
Kimball Fruit Farm raspberries, candied red pepper and chicory. The dinner will be available in the Soirée Dining Room during dinner hours (5:30-10 PM; $45 per person or $65 with a vegan wine pairing. 617-864-1933;

Local 149 goes ‘70s with its Free Love to Disco dinner party - including fondue - July 23. Chef Leah Dubois’s spread includes Steak Diane
or wood plank-grilled salmon, served (family-style) with scalloped potatoes
