As part of the Santa Monica restaurant's ongoing whole animal summer dinner series, Locanda del Lago features buffalo tonight (July 26) in a five-course feast. The menu features “the other red meat” in various forms - tenderloin carpaccio, in tortelloni, as ragu for lasagna, the roasted ribeye, and in dessert. Just kidding about the last one; that will be vanilla custard with fresh berries. Cost is $42 per person, and dinner starts at 7 PM.

Drink This
Adding to the summer cocktail list is Comme Ca, which recently launched the "Initialed" menu, showing which bartender created which seasonal cocktail. Right now you can sip on Fifth Story Flat (Plymouth, yellow chartreuse and dry vermouth) and the La Dame Epicée (Arette reposado, blackberries and Serrano chile). Don't forget happy hour, which has features classics like the Copper Fix (bourbon, bitters, honey, lemon) for only $6.

Do This
Fans of jams, chocolates, toffee and more should check out New.Artisanal.Now. at the ForYourArt gallery across from LACMA on Saturday (July 28). The one-day pop-up pulls together some of LA's best food artisans - from Morning Glory Confections to Laura Ann's Jams - who will be sampling and selling their wares. Greenbar Collective will be on hand with libations, and a DJ will be spinning throughout the day. Noon to 6 PM.
