Eat Local First Week is a weeklong (July 14-21) celebration of local food suppliers, chefs, restaurants and involved organizations. It kicks off on Saturday, July 14, with a barbecue, beer and bluegrass party at Acre 121 (3-7 PM; $25) followed by happy hours, city garden tours, panel discussions, documentary screenings and more. Ris, 2100 Prime and other area restaurants will offer special three-course menus based on ingredients sourced locally. On Saturday, July 21, the week winds up with a Farm-to-Street Party with food from local farms, craft beer and wine, retailers selling their wares, and craft food lessons, plus live music (1-7 PM; V St. NW between 13th and 14th Sts.
